General Rules & Info
To make sure every match in the tournaments goes smoothly and to make it a succes, we have created a set of general rules here. These apply to ALL tournaments. We reserve the right to remove or exclude any participant from the tournament at any point if they fail to abide by the tournament rules. If at any point the rules are changed, an announcement will be posted in the forum. All participants will be expected to check up on and abide by rule updates.
For additional tournament specific rules & info, see that tournament page.
Signing up for a tournament
Sign-ups are to be done via the sign-up topic of the specific tournament. See the tournament page and forum.
Scheduling your games
All players need to schedule their games in the subforums assigned for it. Please read the scheduling guidelines topic that is pinned in each of the scheduling forums - it sets out the proper method for scheduling a game. If you dont schedule your games or dont put in enough effort we will forfeit you.
Record Games
All games must be recorded and the winner must post the games in the specific part of that forum, see the details of that tournament.
Game Settings & Game play
- It is NOT allowed to take the 140 food treasure on Great Plains
- If you are map-screwed and have for example 1 gold mine or no/far food, you can resign before 3 minutes and rehost the game on the same map.
Game version: Age of Empires III - The Asian Dynasties WITH TWC and WITH the AgeSanctuary fan patch 1.2 - download & instructions here (This patch makes the game balanced, both civilisations and maps, to ensure fair games)
Civilization: All TWC & TAD civilizations. Japan is allowed in 1v1 but not in 2v2.
In Pool phase BO 3's you can use 1 civilisation every game if you want. Of course it is also allowed to play different civilisations.
In Losers Bracket, Winners Bracket & Final bracket matches you can use 1 civilisation MAX twice per match! Example: if a bo5 score is 3-2, it is not allowed to play french, french, french, french, german. You can play french, french, german, german, british if you want.
Game type: Supremacy
Map: A map from "competitive map" pool. (this pool includes the following maps: great plains, painted desert, new england, mongolia, sagenuay, siberia, yukon, yucatan, himalayas, pampas, patagonia, andes)
- Both players agree on a map to play. If they cant come to an agreement then they will each devote a map from the pool until one map remains. That will be the map for that game.
- You have to play on at least 2 different maps in every match.
Game rules: Standard
Starting age: Discovery
Game speed: Medium
Free for all: Optional
Handicap: None
Record game: Yes
Allow cheats: No
Playing your games
Each round you will be matched up against (a) opponent(s) with whom you will need to play a best-of-3 series. This means that one (of the teams) will need to win 2 out of 3 games to go to the next round.
You can play your matches on any playform (GameRanger, ESO, Voobly, etc) if your opponent agrees. However, GameRanger will be the main platform that is required for all players.
Grounds for removal from a tournament
- If you get someone to log on to your account and play your games for you, both you AND the person who logged on to your account to play the games in question will be removed from the tournament
- If you are found to be using any sort of cheat, you will be removed from the tournament, excluded from all future tournaments, and banned from the site
- If you are using more than 1 account to play in the tournament, all of those accounts which you are playing under will be removed from the tournament
- Failing to play your games on time, lack of effort to play your games, too unstable/lagg
In case of a situation where no rule directly applies, we will judge the situation and act accordingly to ensure the most fair and best tournament play.
Prizes
Apart from Fun & Honor, we will try to arrange prize money as well!
